XO Stacy

As many of you may know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On 8/15/2014, during a routine OB GYN visit a lump was found in my left breast, on 9/15/2014 I had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor in addition to several lymph nodes which the cancer had spread to. On 10/15/2014 I began four rounds of chemo followed by six weeks of radiation. I was a busy 50 year old mother of 5 with virtually no symptoms. I was given genetic testing and it was found that I had no genetic link to Breast Cancer. I share this with you not looking for sympathy, only awareness. It all happened so quickly I was barely able to process it and honestly it's still a blur, the one consistent worry was I can't leave my children yet, I'm not ready for that. My story has a good ending, not all do. This began my commitment to health, my diet and what products I use on my body. All of this eventually brought me to Tree Huggers. Cancer does not discriminate, it does not care how old you are, your financial status, or whether you have people in your life that love and need you. So please get your mammograms, encourage your loved ones to do the same. Live well, live strong, the world needs you !
